Terms of use

Draft for review: not yet in force, and not legal advice. Parts marked “To fill in” still need the operator's details.

Last updated: 21 October 2026 (draft)

These terms

Grantha is run by [To fill in: the operator's legal name and address] (“we”). By signing in you agree to these terms and to how we handle data, described in the privacy policy.

Your account

  • You sign in with a Google account, and you must be 18 or over.
  • Keep your Google account secure; what happens in your library is your responsibility.
  • One person per account: don't share it.

Your content

Your papers, notes, highlights and files stay yours. You let us store them, show them to you, and send a paper's text to an AI service when you ask for AI help, only to provide Grantha. Upload only what you have the right to keep, for your own research.

Fair use

Please don't:

  • break the law, or anyone else's rights, including copyright;
  • try to get into other people's accounts or around our security or limits;
  • overload the service, or use bots to scrape or copy it.

We may suspend an account that does, and we'll tell you why where we can.

AI help

AI answers are drafts. They can be wrong or incomplete, so check them against the paper before you rely on them or cite them. Your first 5 papers use our key; after that you can add your own free Gemini key, which Google's own terms cover. We may change AI limits and providers to keep the service running.

Plans and prices

Grantha is free. If we add a paid plan, it will be your choice: we won't charge you without your clear agreement, and we'll give notice before any change to what the free plan includes.

The service

We work to keep Grantha running and your data safe, but it's provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of mistakes. Export a backup now and then (Settings → Your data).

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for more than [To fill in: a liability limit]. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account; that removes it and everything in your library. If we ever close Grantha, we'll give you notice and time to export your data.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of [To fill in: a city]. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect. Questions go to support@mygrantha.com.
